Announcing the Rebrand of Our Cybersecurity Risk Services (CRS) Practice
Williams Adley is pleased to announce that we have rebranded our Information Technology Risk Management (ITRM) practice to Cybersecurity Risk Services (CRS). Motivated by industry trends, this update reflects the purpose of our core service offerings as well as our commitment to our clients: minimizing risk through comprehensive, value-added cyber insights. Our CRS team provides cybersecurity expertise to our clients in the form of audit and advisory services with a focus and foundation built on risk management skills. By helping clients assess their cybersecurity posture, identify potential vulnerabilities and threats, and develop strategies to minimize and mitigate risks, our focus on risk management enables clients to proactively safeguard their systems and data and maintain effective cybersecurity programs.
According to the Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), cybersecurity is the art of protecting networks, devices, and data from unauthorized access or criminal use and the practice of ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information [1]. CISA also defines Risk Management [2] as the process of identifying, analyzing, assessing, and communicating risk and accepting, avoiding, transferring, or controlling it to an acceptable level considering the associated costs and benefits of any actions taken. Thus, the CRS name reflects our commitment to providing services that mitigate cyber risk for our clients through our leading expertise and attention to the unique needs of each engagement.
Our CRS team currently provides cybersecurity services to numerous Federal agencies, which includes assisting Offices of Inspector General (OIGs) in completing the annual cybersecurity program assessment required of each Federal agency by FISMA [3]. When conducting our FISMA assessments, our team relies on our philosophy that effective risk management is the foundation for effective cybersecurity programs. This ethos aligns with the cybersecurity best practices promoted by CISA [4] and ensures that we deliver our clients the insights they need to achieve full compliance.
The CRS name reflects the ambition and intention that it will be a catalyst for the future growth of Williams Adley. Our CRS practice is led by a certified management team with extensive Federal cybersecurity experience and is supported by diverse talent from local universities who have majored in cybersecurity.
The CRS team will continue to provide excellence through our current service offerings [5] and will be further developing the practice to support new future clients. Thanks to our highly credentialed and experienced roster of experts, Williams Adley is strategically poised to include many of the most sought-after specializations in our expanding list of services, including Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) [6] advisory services, Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 examination services, StateRAMP participation [7], and various other audit and advisory cybersecurity services.
In 2024 and beyond, the CRS team will be participating in more conferences, writing additional case studies, generating new white papers, posting more to social media, and expanding upon our team philosophies in new podcasts.
