Williams Adley’s CRS Partner Tony Wang Discusses the FISMA OIG Framework for Cybersecurity Risks & Controls

 

In the wake of COVID-19, cybersecurity risks pose an ever-increasing threat to the United States. To address this, Williams Adley’s Cybersecurity Risk Services (CRS) Partner, Tony Wang, contributed to the Internal Control and Risk Management elective led by Mr. David Harvey, professor of practice at the National Defense University College of Information and Cyberspace. 

Speaking on CRS best practices for managing cybersecurity risks, Tony says, “Yes, cybersecurity risk is a true business risk now…” Tony discusses key insights regarding the FISMA OIG framework for preventing and responding to cybersecurity threats and highlights the impact of recent high-profile cyberattacks and their significance for CRS. Tony also outlines the FISMA maturity models for assessing the cybersecurity preparedness of federal agencies, as well as the PPT (People, Process, Technology) model for establishing effective cybersecurity programs.
