Q: What was your first job?

A: At age 16, I got a summer job as a file clerk at the law firm of Berry and Berry in Oakland, California. I read some of the case files and learned a lot about asbestos litigation but more important than that - it taught me how to handle myself in a corporate environment.

Q: What do you believe brings clients to Williams Adley?

A: Our people! Williams Adley has very talented, bright and experienced employees. We are a close-knit firm that really works together in a team fashion. I see our employees going beyond the call of duty every day and it is very rewarding to watch. I truly believe that our energy, enthusiasm, and ability to deliver is apparent to our clients and it gives them the confidence to work with us.

Q:  How do you keep a competitive edge?

A: I do my best to keep up with changes in the industry and participate in conferences and other training to stay current. I also play to my strengths whenever possible and seek insight from those around me who are in the best position to know. I tap into knowledge and know-how from all levels and types of employees because I find it gives me greater perspective and keeps me more well-rounded.

Q: Name one of your talents that benefits clients most.

A: I bring my ability to communicate. I write well and am able to communicate clearly. It sounds basic but in the business world it is invaluable. Clients appreciate it when you get to the point quickly and concisely, and when they read a report that conveys their circumstances accurately. Clients want you to be able to drill down and articulate what you’ve learned, how it relates to them, and what they need to do differently going forward.

Q: How do you spend your time outside of the office?

A: I spend most of my time with my family. I have a wonderful husband, a son and a daughter that I’m very proud of, and a whole bunch of extended family members… it’s great. Also, I love the arts so you’ll find me at the movies, the theatre, and concerts at The Birchmere, my favorite spot. My most expensive hobby is interior design, a love I got from my mom. However, this gets me into trouble financially and I’m running out of things to decorate and re-decorate!

Q: What quote or saying guides your professional and/or personal life?

A: “Attitude is everything”! I believe there is a direct correlation between attitude and results so I tend to err on the side of being positive.
